Valeria was born and raised in El Paso and graduated from Loretto Academy. Valeria graduated from UTEP with a BBA in HR and Finance in 2010 She has been in the HR field for the last 10 years and is currently an HR Manager with El Paso County, where she started as an unpaid intern in the HR Department. Valeria graduated with her MBA in Management in 2015. Valeria was part of the XL Class (best class ever!) of the El Paso Chamber's Leadership Academy. Valeria served on the YWCA Board of Directors from 2014 to 2021. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, gardening, concerts, and reading in her free time.

Art is active and serves on various boards in the El Paso non-profit and education sector.

Bryan is entering his 6th year on the EPSHRM board. He is a native of El Paso and is excited to serve a President Elect. He has been employed with ADP for over seven years providing U.S. small to mid size business clients with HR best practices, compliance and technology support. A graduate from The University of Texas at El Paso, Alvarez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. Alvarez is looking forward to specialize in Employee compensation and payroll by obtaining a Master’s degree in the near future.
Diana is a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), and Beta Gamma Sigma. As an ex-prisoner-reintegration advocate, she sends encouraging letters to prisoners who will soon be released or who are on death row. She has also participated annually since 2017, in the NAMIWalks which support the menta health of individuals with mental illnesses and their families.

With over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, Minnie has learned trust, credibility, and mutual respect are critical to being an HR partner. She obtained a BBA in HR Management from St. Mary's University and holds a Senior Certification through SHRM. Minnie has created and evolved the HR function for nonprofit and private organizations, including AllianceBernstein, Charles Schwab, Texas Workforce Commission, and the City of El Paso Police Department.
Minnie describes herself as an engaged workaholic that appreciates work-life blend. In addition to being VP of Programs for El Paso SHRM, she also serves on the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board, the El Paso Police Department's Discipline Board, and Police Academy Advisory Board. While she stays busy, the most significant role is being a mom to her two kiddos.

Jose Roberto Nakid is a a Mexican native from a small town in Puebla and came to El Paso at the age of twelve years old. Since then, he has been a true El Paso advocate to its economic and social growth and to its people.
Jose Roberto has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso and plenty of experience in the business realm. Some of his previous experience includes retail, marketing, banking, and credit counseling. Now, as a Business Program Director for Southwest University, he has the opportunity to build the curricula that will shape and prepare our future El Paso leaders in business management.

Linda is a native El Pasoan. A graduate of El Paso High and the University of Texas at Austin, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Teaching Certification. She has taught in Austin, Ft. Hancock, and El Paso, TX. In January of 2002, Linda received her PHR certification credentials in Human Resources. In February 2002, Linda received her Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix at Santa Teresa, NM. Linda has more than 20 years experience in management working in the private sector for companies such as: Beatrice, Swift Independent, ACME Boot (division of Fruit of the Loom), International Multifoods, Greyhound Lines, Inc., and West Corporation, as well as the public sector teaching at Doña Ana Branch Community College, specializing in Management and Supervisory training. Linda works for River Oaks Properties as the HR Manager and is an instructor at the University of Phoenix, facilitating courses in Management and Human Resources. As the Certification Director for EPSHRM, Linda is the liaison between the chapter and UTEP. In addition, Linda is active in course instruction for the PHR/SPHR certification course at UTEP.

Gracie has been employed with UMC 9 years and has 21 years combined HR experience working for a casino, a call center, and currently a hospital.
Gracie is a graduate of Burges High School and the University of Texas at El Paso earning a Bachelor of Business Arts in Management.
As the Director of College Relations for EPSHRM, Gracie is the liaison between the chapter and UTEP’s SHRM student chapter.
Gracie attributes her passion for the HR profession because of her desire to understand not just the art, but also the science of people management.

Having started her career with Hyatt Hotels in South Carolina, she was promoted to Virginia and the Washington, DC area where she worked for 10 years providing leadership in both union and nonunion environments. She was the Senior Director of Human Resources for Bally Total Fitness for over 13 years with responsibility for the full delivery of Human Resources services for 90 health clubs spread over 6 different states employing up to 5,000 employees. She was the head of HR for 2 business units with Ecolab Manufacturing for 6 years. Additionally, she worked in the non-profit space assisting with a cause she is passionate about (education for low-income, at-risk children) and enabling the organization to launch their HR function, reduce turnover and increase retention of high potential employees.

She is working on a second Master's in Jurisprudence in Labor and Employment Law. She received her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) credentials in 2009. Through her 20+ career, Mayela has created a name for rebuilding and developing businesses in the operational, accounting and HR realm.
