Art Gloria

Head of Operations and HR - TruTEMPS Staffing Group

Art Gloria is an experienced professional in human resources, finance, and general business management with a demonstrated history of working in the government, health care, and diverse private business industries. He is currently the Head of Operations and Human Resources at TruTEMPS Staffing Group.

Art is very active in the El Paso non-profit sector and serves as the El Paso Society for Human Resources Management President. In 2019 he was named Business Leader of the Year by the El Paso Chamber.

Art was born in Mexico, immigrated to the USA when he was 15, grew up in El Paso TX, where he graduated from Franklin High School. Mr. Gloria holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Regents University London. He attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where he earned his B.A. in Political Science and was elected as Student Body President and served in the U.T. System Student Advisory Board.

 Jennifer Alarcon

Client Service Manager II - ADP

Jennifer was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Franklin High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from Webster University.

Jennifer has been with ADP for 11 years and is currently a Client Service Manager II in the Benefits & Talent Solution Center. She leads a team of eleven analysts that support a book of business of over 60 million dollars. She is very passionate about associate growth and development and encourages her team to aim high. This is her fourth year on the EPSHRM Board, she is both honored and grateful to serve as President for the Chapter this year. She is active in the ADP Community Pillar, which brings awareness to social responsibility initiatives. Jennifer is aligned with the Children’s Grief Center of El Paso and has helped to raise over $10,000 for the non-profit organization over the past two years.   In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering and giving back to the El Paso community, spending time with her family, and traveling.

Valeria Fernandez

HR Manager - County of El Paso 

Valeria was born and raised in El Paso and graduated from Loretto Academy. Valeria graduated from UTEP with a BBA in HR and Finance in 2010 She has been in the HR field for the last 10 years and is currently an HR Manager with the County of El Paso, where she started as an unpaid intern in the HR Department. Valeria graduated with her MBA in Management in 2015. Valeria was part of the XL Class (best class ever!) of the El Paso Chamber's Leadership Academy. Valeria currently serves as Secretary for the YWCA Board of Directors. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, concerts, and reading in her free time.

Eliana Avila

Vice President of Human Resources - TFCU

Eliana Avila is a member of the Senior Management Team filling the position of Vice President of Human Resources at TFCU. She started working at the Credit Union in 2002 and has been part of the Human Resources department since 2005, holding various roles. Eliana received her Bachelor’s Degree in 2004 from the University of Texas at El Paso. She earned her Professional in Human Resource Management (PHR) certification in 2012 and her SHRM-CP certification in 2015 from the Society for Human Resource Management.

Eliana currently serves as Treasurer for El Paso SHRM. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her kids.

Jose Roberto Nakid

Business Program Director - Southwest University at El Paso

Jose Roberto Nakid is a a Mexican native from a small town in Puebla and came to El Paso at the age of twelve years old. Since then, he has been a true El Paso advocate to its economic and social growth and to its people.

Jose Roberto has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso and plenty of experience in the business realm. Some of his previous experience includes retail, marketing, banking, and credit counseling. Now, as a Business Program Director for Southwest University, he has the opportunity to build the curricula that will shape and prepare our future El Paso leaders in business management.

Linda Torres-Kleinhans

HR Manager - River Oaks Properties

Linda is a native El Pasoan. A graduate of El Paso High and the University of Texas at Austin, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Teaching Certification. She has taught in Austin, Ft. Hancock, and El Paso, TX. In January of 2002, Linda received her PHR certification credentials in Human Resources. In February 2002, Linda received her Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix at Santa Teresa, NM. Linda has more than 20 years experience in management working in the private sector for companies such as: Beatrice, Swift Independent, ACME Boot (division of Fruit of the Loom), International Multifoods, Greyhound Lines, Inc., and West Corporation, as well as the public sector teaching at Doña Ana Branch Community College, specializing in Management and Supervisory training. Linda works for River Oaks Properties as the HR Manager and is an instructor at the University of Phoenix, facilitating courses in Management and Human Resources. As the Certification Director for EPSHRM, Linda is the liaison between the chapter and UTEP. In addition, Linda is active in course instruction for the PHR/SPHR certification course at UTEP.

Janice Cahill Sherman

Principal & Chief HR Consultant - Cahill HR Consulting

With over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, Janice has successfully navigated about every storm you can imagine from an HR perspective. Having started her career with Hyatt Hotels in South Carolina, she was promoted to Virginia and the Washington, DC area where she worked for 10 years providing leadership in both union and nonunion environments. She was the Senior Director of Human Resources for Bally Total Fitness for over 13 years with responsibility for the full delivery of Human Resources services for 90 health clubs spread over 6 different states employing up to 5,000 employees. She was the head of HR for 2 business units with Ecolab Manufacturing for 6 years. Additionally, she worked in the non-profit space assisting with a cause she is passionate about (education for low-income, at-risk children) and enabling the organization to launch their HR function, reduce turnover and increase retention of high potential employees.​

From starting the HR function from the ground level to developing and implementing the Strategic HR Business plan, she is adept at both tactical and strategic aspects of the HR function. She started her consulting agency to assist small to medium sized organizations that may not have the revenue base or the need for a fulltime HR function as well as provide coaching for professionals with a desire to take their leadership skills to the next level. Her goal is to help business owners maintain compliance while building their bottom line by cultivating a sustainable continuous growth culture. She believes that HR compliance and a continuous growth corporate culture are foundational to bottom line revenue growth.

Gracie Padilla

Associate Relations Specialist - University Medical Center of El Paso

Gracie has been employed with UMC 9 years and has 21 years combined HR experience working for a casino, a call center, and currently a hospital.

Gracie is a graduate of Burges High School and the University of Texas at El Paso earning a Bachelor of Business Arts in Management.

As the Director of College Relations for EPSHRM, Gracie is the liaison between the chapter and UTEP’s SHRM student chapter.

Gracie attributes her passion for the HR profession because of her desire to understand not just the art, but also the science of people management.

Arturo is the Human Resources Director for Southwest University, and he loves his career because it puts him in a position to foster growth and success in his organization. Arturo is certified as a PHR, he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and an AAS Degree in Business Management and Accounting Systems from Southwest University. He is currently pursuing his MBA from UTPB. Arturo aspires to continue growing and learning in his HR career to become a more valuable asset for his organization. Rick Cabrera

Employee Benefits Advisor - HUB International

Rick Cabrera has called El Paso home for more than 20 years. He served as ABC-7’s weekday evening news anchor with Estela Casas from May 2008 through June 2018 before  embarking on a new career in June of 2018 when he joined the El Paso office of HUB International Insurance Services. Rick specializes in employee benefits where he finds creative and strategic ways for companies of all sizes to provide cost effective medical and voluntary benefits.

Rick also serves on numerous boards, including the local boards for Make-A-Wish, March of Dimes, City Plan Commission, El Paso Society of Human Resource Management and the Assistance League of El Paso. He also lends his time and talent to countless other Borderland events. He also still does some work in front of the camera by voicing, writing and editing videos for local non-profits and for social media.

Bryan Cleavenger

Bryan is entering his 5th year on the EPSHRM board. He is a native of El Paso and is excited to serve a 2nd term as Emerging Professionals Director. He has been employed with ADP for over six years as an HR Solutions Consultant providing U.S. small to mid size business clients with HR best practices, compliance and technology support. Currently he holds certifications from SHRM, HRCI, & payroll fundamentals. Graduate of UTEP with a Bachelor’s in HR Management & a graduate of University of Phoenix Masters in Business Administration. Victoria Del Campo

Attorney - Kemp Smith LLP

Victoria del Campo is an associate in the firm’s labor and employment department. Victoria counsels and represents employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters. She regularly defends employers before state and federal courts and administrative agencies in matters involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour issues.

Victoria also provides advice and counseling to clients to assist them in taking proactive steps to avoid litigation. She has experience reviewing handbooks and other employment-related policies, as well as counseling employers on pre-employment testing, leave of absence management, and reductions in force.

Victoria is a native of El Paso and attended the University of Texas El Paso where she earned her B.A. in Business Finance in 2009. Victoria then attended the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she was a Note and Comment Editor for the Wisconsin International Law Journal. She also completed the labor and employment concentration, graduating with honors, and served as a legal extern to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Danielle Bootes is a passionate Human Resources expert who strives to apply pertinent data analytics and process improvement strategies to human capital management. She truly believes that the human element is one of the most important assets to any organization. With ten years of experience leading projects in HR and adult education she looks to make an impact in any community she is a part of. She attained her Masters of Science in Human Resources Management from Troy University in 2017 and served in the US Army for 7 years. Diana Alvarez

A graduate from The University of Texas at El Paso, Alvarez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. Alvarez is looking forward to specialize in Employee compensation and payroll by obtaining a Master’s degree in the near future.

Diana is a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), and Beta Gamma Sigma. As an ex-prisoner-reintegration advocate, she sends encouraging letters to prisoners who will soon be released or who are on death row.  She has also participated annually since 2017, in the NAMIWalks which support the menta health of individuals with mental illnesses and their families.

Crystal Etter, Human Resources Analyst, was born and raised in El Paso. Crystal attended Eastwood High School and holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources from UTEP in 2015.

Crystal has been with Workforce Solutions Borderplex for four years and started as Human Resources Assistant. Crystal quickly moved into her current position as Human Resources Analyst and is very proud to work in her organization, which is dedicated to assisting employers in finding quality employees, and training individuals with the skills necessary to thrive in the workplace. Her hobbies include cycling, camping with her family, running, and hiking. Crystal is very excited to serve as part of the 2021 Board of Directors as the Workforce Readiness Director.

Mayela Macias

Human Resources Administrator - YWCA El Paso del Norte

Mayela Macias is a professional in the human resources, accounting, and general management field.  She has over 20 years experience in Accounting /Finance and over 10 years experience as an HR Professional. 

Mayela holds a MBA in Accounting from University of Phoenix and a B.A. in Accounting from University of Texas at El Paso.  She is working on a second Master's in Jurisprudence in Labor and Employment Law.  She received her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) credentials in 2009.  Through her 20+ career, Mayela has created a name for rebuilding and developing businesses in the operational, accounting and HR realm.  She has successfully revamped her current companies  to a profitable state with improved efficiencies and high employee morale.  Undertaken non-existent HR departments to a full service departments.
