Sylvia Y. Acosta, Chief Executive Officer
El Paso native, Sylvia Y. Acosta, Ph.D. currently serves as the CEO of the largest YWCA in the nation. At the YWCA El Paso Del Norte she oversees a budget of over 28 million dollars with over 409 employees.
Dr. Acosta has over 25 years of management experience in non-profit organizations. Prior to her position at YWCA El Paso del Norte Region, Acosta served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Constituent Development and as the Interim Assistant Vice Chancellor of Health Advancement for the University of California, Irvine (UCI). Dr. Acosta also served as Associate Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Texas at El Paso, as the Assistant Dean for Development and Public Relations for New Mexico State University, and as the National Vice President of External Relations and Chief Operating Officer for AVANCE, Inc. a national early childhood education program based in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Sylvia Y. Acosta holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from New Mexico State University. She is married to Dr. Joe Graham and has two children, Sybonae Acosta Castillo and Alexander Graham.
