Abraham Arzola, Compliance Assistance Specialist with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in El Paso, TX. Mr. Arzola has been working for OSHA for nine years and his responsibilities as Compliance Assistance Specialist is to provide general outreach information about OSHA and respond to requests for help from a variety of groups. Mr. Arzola also worked as an EH&S Manager in private industry and served on the USS Lafayette 616 SSBN in the U.S. Navy.

About the Program:

This presentation will provide information regarding OSHA’s local and federal level updates and inspections. (What type of inspections are conducted, What can trigger an OSHA Inspection, What type of hazards are observed, and OSHA Citations), OSHA’s Fatality Statistics (The number of work-related fatalities in the El Paso area, Fatalities by type of event, gender, and age group), OSHA’s Top Ten most violated Standards, OSHA Campaigns (OSHA’s National Fall Safety Stand-Down, Heat Illness Prevention Campaign, and Safe and Sound Campaign) and OSHA Initiatives (Local and Regional Emphasis Programs).
